Get Discount Generac 5939 GP5500 Portable Powered Generator

We used this generator for the first time during the two and a half day power outage from a late October Noreaster here in Mass. It worked as advertised-a little noisy but that was only when being in the house nearest to the genrator's location outside. The electrician had come and wired for a lot of things to go on. While many did,but not all. we need to redo the priority list, but that has nothing to do with the generator-it worked just fine.

Well havent had to use it yet , just wanted to chime in on the LOUD issue, I read one review by some one who said much quieter than my old B&S storm responder and I whole hardedly agree.

Those who think this one is load , should compare it to some other , lesser expense generators, not the high end ones, ths one is quiet enough for me,

Also nice that my wife can start it if Im not around, she never could start the storm responder , another strike against that one,ths one starts easy one first or second pull and powers the whole house.

I planned on getting a generator to prepare for winter. Nor'easters can put you in a rough spot if you have no backup power. I'm glad I ordered early. I've only had it two days and then Hurricane Irene knocked out my power. Adding oil, a gallon of gas, slide the choke, turn the power switch to on, and its running on the first pull. Voltmeter readings look good. I'm using extension cords right now to my fridge and freezer and I don't think the generator even noticed much. For this weather crisis, my 1/2 hp sump pump is not required but I am confident this generator is up to the task when that time comes. The near future plan is to search for a suitable transfer switch but I have what I need for now; a good dependable generator. Go Generac and thanks Amazon for the great deal!
